Day 57-A Road Walk Sounds Nice

Day 57: mile 1229.9-1242.9

Dipity and I started the day together in case of more craziness like we had yesterday. To our surprise we had quite a bit of dirt trail almost immediately. Awesome!

We had a few miles to get to the forest road we opted to take. Normally a road walk sounds horrible, but not today, today it sounded wonderful. We needed a mental break from death defying hiking for a day.

Passing by some gorgeous views, and a really cool lookout tower Dipity suggested looked like something from Harry Potter (it totally did), we made our way down.

The day showered us with rain and hail, but the walking was flat, so we couldn’t complain. Between the spouts of weather we spent the day talking and getting to know more about each other. It made the boring road walk fun.

The day was pretty uneventful, just what we needed. We ended the day in the rain, but who cares, we also ended the day in the dirt! The boys were waiting for us, no stomping out the campsite tonight. They did pick us out a couple of spots though. 😊Everyone was in much better spirits at the end of today, and tomorrow we will be in town. I think we’re all ready for this stretch to be done. Looking forward to all things warm and dry tomorrow night!

Goodnight!
