Day 46-I’ll Deal With Tomorrow, Tomorrow

Day 46: mile 621.9-643.8

I woke up feeling fantastic. Today was going to be one of those real good days, I could feel it. My body had tons of energy and I felt like one more full day of miles before I got off the trail at Walker Pass.

Of course I messed around camp for hours before I left for those miles. Remember, I had service. 😂

Around 10:45 I started on the trail. It was already hot, so I brought out my trusty umbrella to keep me shaded. What a difference that thing makes!

I cruised through mile after mile, stopping at the water cache and trail register before my ascent up a few thousand feet over just a couple miles.

Still feeling like a kid who ate too much candy I killed that climb! The view from the top was insane. I passed so many campsites with unbelievable views I would’ve loved to stay at, but I had set a goal for the day, so on I went.

Back down the other side I was eventually led to a dirt road. This thing was harder than a rock and so uneven. Ugh! Not the most ideal way to end an awesome day, but I made it to my goal, the cabin.

I have to say the cabin, like the dirt road was disappointing. Damp and musty, the kind of place you’d have to be in a pretty bad storm to stay inside. The area was super crowded and everyone was pretty loud, not really my scene, but I found a flat-ish spot and set up my tent. It wasn’t all bad though, I was happy to see my friends Ring Master and Marmalade one last time before we all parted ways tomorrow.

I went to bed thinking about how much fun my day was. Choosing to push out my thoughts of sadness that tomorrow would be my last day on trail for an unknown amount of time, I’m heading to sleep. I’ll deal with that when tomorrow comes…

Goodnight!

XOXO Becks
