Day 41- Onesies Make This Girl Feel Right At Home

Day 41: mile 546.6-558.5 (Tehachapi)

I woke up to an unbelievable sunrise. I even managed to get a time lapse, beautiful.

I started on my short journey into Tehachapi, excited to get to town. I was looking forward to meeting the Trail Angels my friend Dignity set myself and SOS up with, along with the usual food, beers, and hot showers.

No sooner had I started, I got to the water cache I’d heard about the day before. The food was gone, but the awesome set up was not. What a cool little oasis! I didn’t need a break, but how could I not put my feet up under the umbrella for a few minutes? 😂

Then came more windmills. I’ve seen way too many of these in the past 2 days! 🙄😂

I made it to the parking lot where I was greeted with Trail Magic, yes! To make it even better, it was Magic Man. I met him way back on day 2 where he gave me my very first Trail Magic experience. We chatted for a bit before I hitched a ride into town to meet SOS for pizza and beers.

After thoroughly enjoying our food and drinks we popped over to the store to pick up a few things. …and goof around of course.

Our Trail Angel Rachael came to pick us up and bring us back to her house. We were warmly welcomed by the whole family. After a glorious shower, we sipped wine and enjoyed the most delicious stew I’ve ever had as we all got to know each other.

Later in the night we discovered a shared love of narwhals and onesies. They had a few narwhal onesies, so I think you know where this is going. I felt right at home!

Sitting on the couch watching The Smurfs movie with the girls, SOS, and 2 puppies I’m feeling quite content. Headed to bed with a happy heart.

Goodnight!

XOXO Becks
