Day 4 mile: 45-59.7
Day four began with a beautiful sunrise. We watched quietly, all of us bundled in our layers, me wrapped up in my quilt. The orange hue covered the horizon as we waited for the sun to peak over the top. The still, calm of the morning was meditative.
I returned back to my tent to eat and pack up. I managed to get on the trail by 8:15, which was a good thing with all the stops I ended up making.
A few of those stops are definitely worth mentioning. More trail magic! Bridgette was serving up veggie tacos and and offering cold drinks at the picnic area at mile 52. The tacos were amazing! We chatted about her experience on the trail a few years back, and all of her travels since. I thanked her for making my day and was off. No sooner had I walked less than a mile and, no way, more trail magic! Trouble Maker was handing out ice cold Cuties (small oranges) and drinks. Best Cutie I’ve ever had!
Following was my favorite part of the trail yet. Gorgeous views far into the distance. I’ll let the photos do the talking here.
I planned to stop at Sunrise Trailhead for water for the night, but stumbled upon a creek that wasn’t listed in Guthook instead. A couple hikers I knew were already doing laundry and bathing, so I joined. Myself and my clothes could use a wash too.
Since the day had been so relaxing I decided to keep that going and only hike the 15 miles I initially planned. It was still early, but a few hours at camp with some sunlight sounded nice , and it was.
Goodnight!

Gorgeous sunrise indeed! And this Bridgette would probably be my favorite person. 🌮🌮🌮
Haha She definitely was that day!
