Day 34: mile 452.9-464

I woke up comfy in my hotel room bed, but a bit hungover from the drinks the night before. Oops. At least there was free breakfast to soak it all up. My brother and I headed down to eat and grab some coffee. I loaded up on a plate of food to eat for breakfast, and did a little resupply “shopping” for the next section. 

After breakfast we headed to REI to get some new shoes. My feet had already gone a half size up, so the shoes I sent myself were too small, and you know how bad I needed those shoes. 😂

Now back to the trail! We checked out Vasquez Rocks together. What a cool sight to see. I had never even heard of this place until the PCT. These rocks are a result of the San Andres fault, and have appeared in numerous movies and TV shows. Think Star Trek kinda stuff.

Then my brother drove me through the town of Agua Dulce to a dirt road where the trail picked back up and we said our goodbyes. I had such a blast with him! It’s always tough when family comes to visit, it’s so nice to see them, but a little sad when they go. 

I hiked off into the hills not really knowing what to expect in this section. It was a cold and cloudy day, which is pretty great for hiking. It also made for some gorgeous views. Everything has a different kind of beauty on a cloudy day.

I didn’t make it very far, probably the hangover. 😂 I set up for the night in a nice little tent spot with a view, and got into bed. It’s going to be an early one tonight guys.
