Day 136
Another cloudy morning greeted me, my tent surrounded by fog. At least there were a few spots where blue sky was peaking out giving me hope they might clear up.
The day was overall pretty uneventful, until I heard voices and trucks up ahead. I was so excited to see a couple of dogs playfully running my way. It’s always such a treat to run into pups out here. They always make my day!
I spent most of the day out of the trees enjoying the views, despite the clouds sticking around after all.
The trail had been pretty busy, and the campsites were full of people already setting up tents while I still had miles to go. Feeling a little worried the site I had in mind might be taken by the time I got there, I stopped a couple miles short of where I’d planned. I found a nice flat spot and set up, excited to make it into Snoqualmie tomorrow.
Day 137
Town day! I was on the trail by 8, ready for some hot food! The miles flew by and before I knew it I could see the highway, then the town.
First order of business was food. Unfortunately the spot I wanted to eat wasn’t open just yet, so I settled for a beer flight across the street at Dru Bru. Super cute spot. And yes, they were all delicious!
Back to the food truck for Hurry Curry! I’d been dreaming about it for days after reading rave reviews from other hikers. It was every bit as delicious as I’d heard, and it came with a free beer if you’re a hiker! Full and happy, I grabbed my resupply box and then snuck over to the hotel and did my laundry before heading to the Alpine Lodge. No dryer there, and nothing dries in Washington.
The lodge is amazing and the hosts are great! I helped make a spaghetti dinner and chatted with everyone for a few hours before heading up to my bunk. Pretty pumped to have a hot shower and a bed for the night!
Goodnight!
