Day 110: mile 1995.1-2012.3
Yes, one more giant, delicious meal before I leave this place. I packed up my tent and headed to the hiker building to attempt to get all my stuff together, but before I could do so the breakfast bell rang. Priorities.
I returned with a full belly of cereal, pancakes and veggie bacon. Good thing I’m never in a rush to leave, I don’t think I would’ve been able to hike this full.
Once I did start hiking the day had warmed up quite a bit. I began to climb …and sweat! Good thing I STILL had my umbrella. I ran into a few groups of ladies out section hiking. It’s pretty awesome to see these women out sharing such a cool experience. I love how we all inspire each other out here, and how backpacking is an instant bond.
I’d been hearing about Three Fingered Jack for some time. It’s one of the highlights in Oregon, and when it came into view I saw why. Check this out!
After starring for quite some time, and making my way down the switchbacks I moved along. The remainder of the day went through an old burn area. As you can see it’s all coming back to life with the green regrowth. I spy a deer! They’re everywhere out here.
My muscles were feeling pretty tight and I was wishing I still had my little roller ball to do some work on myself. What do you know, as I strolled into camp that night I found one on the ground. No joke! There’s a saying out here that has proven true many times, the trail provides. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.
I set up my tent in the little patch of unburned trees and rolled out my muscles as I enjoyed my last Pineapple Kush. Not a bad day my friends!
Goodnight!
