Day 101-I See the Snow, Where’s the Water Oregon?

Day 101: Rim Trail mile 11- PCT mile 1861.8

I knocked out the last little bit to get back to the PCT. It was mostly flat walking, so easy peasy. I made it across the freeway (always the most dangerous part of the trail 😂), and to the water cache. It sure is dry out here!

I said hi to Bowie, who was taking a break, read the snow note ( I found out later was way outdated in my favor), and trekked on.

The day was a hot one and I had another gradual lengthy uphill coming my way. I think this might be Oregon’s style. Sneaky torture …in more ways than one. 😂 I caught a couple pretty sweet views at least.

Although the note was outdated, there was still some snow. It was mostly patchy, but I threw on my spikes for the short stretch of solid snow.

I got to my water source and loaded up because apparently Oregon is just dry! First I hit a water cache, now I’ve got to load up for a 16+ mile carry. Wait, I’m literally sitting next to snow, how is this happening? Oh Oregon, you’re full of less than desirable surprises. 😂

I headed up and hit the OR/WA high point, which seemed oddly exciting. Put a sign of accomplishment in front of someone who walks all day and she gets excited. 😂 Shortly after I set up for the night. Ready for some dinner, starving! Gotta go, must eat.

Goodnight!

XOXO Becks
